BRIX Performance Brake Pad

STREET-SPORT

Responsive. City to Circuit.

STREET SPORT BRAKE PAD IS

ENGINEREED FOR DRIVERS WHO

DEMAND MORE THAN JUST A

DAILY COMMUTE.

Positioned between our Street Series and Competition Series, the Street-Sport is built to deliver responsive stopping power from city streets to circuits.

With a low-metal ceramic compound at its core, Street-Sport combines the silence and comfort of a street pad with the resilience of a track-ready setup. Its wide operating temperature range, stable high-friction coefficient (0.40-0.48 μ), and strong cold bite mean you can brake with confidence whether navigating rush-hour traffic or pushing your car through an autocross lap.

Designed for enthusiasts, this pad offers dual-purpose performance: low noise for daily driving and fade resistance with consistent control when it matters most on track.

Street-Sport vs OEM Brake

Pad Performance Comparison

Dual-Purpose Performance

(for daily drives and occasional track days)

Street comfort meets motorsport performance. Street-Sport pads are tuned for dual-purpose use. Smooth and responsive on the road, but tough enough for light-moderate track days and autocross runs. Enthusiasts can drive to the circuit, push hard, and drive home on the same pads.

Optimized Friction Coefficient

(0.40-0.48 μ)

High friction force with ease of control. Street-Sport pads sit in the optimal friction range: high enough to provide strong braking power, yet very consistent for easy modulation. Drivers can brake harder and deeper with high predictability, whether daily driving or trail-braking to a corner.

The street sports compound consistent performance for daily driving with high cold bite and strong performance during highway driving, then gradually transition to a balanced, consistent, and easy to modulate performance brake pad at high temperature.

High Temperature Range

(0-700°C).

Confidence that holds under heat. Engineered to handle repeated heavy braking, the Street-Sport maintains stable friction on rotor temps up to 700°C (see Comparison between Friction vs Temperature). This large thermal capacity ensures fade resistance during spirited driving, autocross, or track day sessions, while still functioning reliably in everyday city use.

Initial Bite.

Experience instant braking response the moment your foot touches the pedal. The initial bite defines how quickly the pad grips the rotor when braking begins and with the BRIX Performance Street-Sport compound, you don't need to press hard to get confident stopping power.

Low-Metal Ceramic Compound.

Cleaner, smoother, and easier on rotors. With a low-metal ceramic formulation, Street-Sport pad strike the balance between performance and refinement. Our Blend of Brake Pad Compound is formulated for high friction, high temperature use, with clean wheels, and minimum noise. Ensuring peace of mind for both the daily and the weekend warrior.

Excellent Cold Bite.

Instant stopping power from the first press. Where track-only pads often feel weak until heated, the Street-Sport compound delivers immediate bite even at ambient temperatures. Our Street Sports Compound starts at 0.42 μ in Ambient Temperature conditions. This makes them ideal for city traffic, sudden braking, and emergency stops. A true dual-purpose pad.

Consistent Pedal Feel

(0–600 °C).

Reliability you can feel, every stop. Street-Sport pads are formulated to maintain a predictable friction curve and maintain the same pressure for a given deceleration rate across their optimum operating window (0–600 °C). This consistency preserves pedal feel, and ensures repeatable braking performance lap after lap

Low Noise.

Performance braking without the squeal. The Street-Sport pad uses a low-metal ceramic formulation designed to minimize vibration and suppress noise. Unlike aggressive semi-metallic pads, it keeps daily drives quiet, whether you’re commuting through traffic or occasional track days.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • OEM brake pads are tuned primarily for comfort, low noise, and basic daily use within a narrow temperature range.

BRIX Performance Street-Sport pads are engineered for higher performance and a wider operating window, offering:

    • Consistent pedal feel across a wide temperature range (0–700 °C).
    • Instant braking response with an optimized friction coefficient of 0.40–0.48 μ.
    • Signature BRIX blue backing plate for easy visual identification behind the wheel.

The result is a pad that feels sharper, more confidence-inspiring, and better suited for spirited street driving and occasional track use compared to typical OEM pads.

  • For safety and performance, we strongly recommend professional installation.

    • Have the pads installed by a certified workshop or trusted technician.
    • Experienced enthusiasts may follow our Assembly & Bedding-In Guide for detailed steps and safety checks.
    • Always inspect rotor condition and do not use rotors that are below the manufacturer’s specified minimum thickness.
    • Follow torque specifications provided by the vehicle manufacturer for caliper bolts and wheel nuts.

  • Proper bedding-in is essential to achieve full friction performance and even contact between the pad and rotor surface.

The process gradually transfers a uniform layer of friction material onto the rotor, reducing the chance of uneven deposits, judder, and premature wear.

    Download Bedding-In Procedure (PDF)

Skipping this process may cause uneven wear, brake noise, or brake judder, especially under hard use.

  • Street-Sport pads are safe to use immediately after installation, but they reach their best performance after a proper bedding-in period.

Once bedded, they are designed to deliver consistent braking from 0–700 °C, making them ideal for daily driving with occasional spirited runs or track days.

You may notice a slightly firmer pedal feel and stronger initial bite as the pad and rotor fully mate and the transfer layer stabilizes.

  • Yes, a light squeal can be normal during the first 200–500 km of use, especially with performance compounds.

This usually fades once the pad and rotor surfaces have properly mated after bedding-in.

    Persistent squeal may indicate:

    • Uneven rotor surface or edge lips.
    • Sticking or dry caliper pins/sliders.
    • Missing, worn, or damaged noise shims or anti-rattle hardware.
    • Improper bedding-in or contaminated friction surfaces.

If noise continues, have the braking system inspected or re-bedded by your installer to identify and correct the root cause.

  • Some brake dust is unavoidable with any performance-oriented compound.

BRIX Street-Sport pads use a low-metal ceramic formulation, which typically produces:

    • More dust than most OEM comfort-oriented pads.
    • Less dust than semi-metallic or high-metallic racing pads.

Dust levels may be higher during the first 1,000 km or when used with worn or previously-glazed rotors. Regular wheel cleaning helps preserve wheel finish and maintain braking efficiency.

  • Inspection frequency depends on driving style and usage.

    • Inspect pads every 2,000 km, or more frequently if you drive aggressively or use the car on track.
    • Replace pads when the friction material thickness is below 3 mm.

    Rotors should be replaced if:

    • Deep grooves, heat cracks, or significant surface damage are visible.
    • Pronounced edge ridges have formed at the outer rotor lip.
    • Measured thickness is at or below the manufacturer’s “MIN TH” marking.

For balanced braking and consistent feel, it is often best to replace pads and rotors together when either is close to its wear limit.

  • Yes. BRIX Performance Street-Sport pads are designed to work well with both OEM and upgraded rotors, as long as the rotors are in good condition.

    • Rotor surfaces must be clean, flat, and free from severe grooves or cracks.
    • Rotor thickness must be above the manufacturer’s minimum specification.

For the most consistent bite and heat management, we recommend pairing Street-Sport pads with BRIX Performance rotors, which are optimized for cooling and friction stability.
